In the last edition of Teen@ge World, The subject about first dates was brought up. Now, Teen@ge World takes a look at what happens when relations go BAD.
First there is the Bē syndrome. Bē stands for 'Break-up Blues'. Simply put, this is a case in which the "victimised" teen resolves to various methods to overcome the loss of a relationship. Common methods include: Stuffing Themselves Silly. This method is crude yet somewhat efficient. However, teens tend to over react and end up looking like a sumo wrestler. This will only be fine if you tend to end up with of heart congestion. Another method is to Find Another Boyfriend/ Girlfriend just to make the previous one jealous. Oh, don't think that this is wrong! At least it shows that you are willing to have another go and that there is still hope for you. Although.... there is one draw back. What happens if your new selection turns out to be worst than the former? You'll only end up sad and lonely not to mention your self-esteem will drop because you feel foolish to end up with another moron. This is also known as love on the rebound. Here is another mistake, SUICIDE ! This may seem logical at first when you are so wrought with sadness. DON'T BE STUPID ! You are still young and there are plenty more fish in the sea. Don't do anything that you will live to regret ( or in this case WON'T LIVE TO REGRET ). Ways to deal with a break-up: You could try like what they do in the movies by tearing up or burning old photos, letters, cards or anything from your recent relationship. This will help remove a bit of the grief and sorrow. You could also try consulting a counselor or a friend to pour your heart out. Friends are recomended instead of counselors because they don't charge. Try going out to a mall and see other couples go by and think about how much money you save from not having a relationship. Either that or suffer a relapse and feel even worse! ( Think about this one first okay? ). Watch a comedy to take your mind of the depressing memories. Some recommended movies are: Austin Powers, Billy Madison, The Full Monty and Titanic. If all else fails, have a GOOD cry! Crying helps relieve tensions in the body and the stress you feel. When you cry, the tension eases and you will feel much better.
